  INTRODUCTION

Know Your Dog! (How to raise a great puppy)

Kennel 101 offers multifaceted dog training, with the core being the development of a companion dog. Our goal is to help you create the best possible relationship with your companion dog.  It is important not to see your dog as simply existing in your world but rather as a separate creature with it’s own needs, wants, desires capabilities and drives. Only by recognizing the difference between the person and the dog can you fully enter into a caring working relationship. We are time and time again amazed by the capabilities, loyalty and faithfulness of our companion canine friends.

This volume covers the basics of crate training, house training and puppy biting and chewing issues for puppies and adult dogs. In future volumes of Know Your Dog we look at the dogs senses, ways of avoiding aggression problems, as well as concrete ways of using positive reinforcement to get the behaviors you desire. We hope this book  help provides the basis to creating a solid caring relationship between you and your canine companion.
